Dear members and friends,
This is my first letter since I took up the position of President of our Madrid Council back in July and I would like to thank all of you for trusting me with the honor to chair the Board of Directors of this outstanding service organization.
We have had a very exciting year at our Navy League Madrid Council, with extraordinary guest speakers in each of our eight dinners. We came back to the US Embassy for our May Cocktail and we also enjoyed a very special Gala Ball, with remarkable recognitions given to some key individuals who have made valuable contributions to our Council objectives, like Past President Luis San Miguel, CDR Mark Dennison (Deputy Chief, ODC Spain) and Board Secretary Mal Murphy.
During this year we have also seen new Corporate Sponsors (like Escribano and Black Bull Group) as well as new individual members, joining the Navy League Madrid Council, thus contributing to the strengthening of our organization. I really hope that other new Sponsors and individual members will join us in 2019 making our organization not only bigger, but more attractive and performing for all.
I would like to thank all of our Sponsors and Members for their support to the Madrid Council. Without them we would not be able to fulfill our objectives and support the men and women of the Sea Services in the US and Spain.
Like every year, we are not having a dinner in December. We will have our next dinner on January 24th, with Julio Juan Prieto from Accenture as guest speaker. Julio Juan is very well known in the Aerospace & Defense industrial community and I am sure that we will be all looking forward to listen to his speech.
As we celebrate Christmas, please remember to give thanks to all the men and women of our armed forces and very especially to those who may not be able to celebrate with family and friends.
