Navy League of the United States Helping Ukrainians

Dear Navy League member/friend,

We don’t normally post messages not related to our dinners/events but, as mentioned at our dinner on Tuesday, the European Navy League Councils are active in assisting Ukrainian refugees. 

The bulletin below provides information on what is being done and how you can assist:

BULLETIN – UNITED STATES NAVY LEAGUE – EUROPE COUNCILS ASSISTANCE FOR UKRAINE

All the European Councils of the United States Navy League are now working together to provide assistance to Ukraine. The current Europe Presidency is located in Romania (that shares a border with Ukraine and Moldova). All assistance is being coordinated by the European Region and Romanian Council President, Teodor Patrichi, who is collecting money through their NGO, Asociatia Navala, which is registered as an official commerce registrant. Please consider giving. 

To date, the Council has provided:

– customised packs with food rations

– clothing and supplies for children

– transport to cities in Romania 

– updated information on safe passage corridors 

– coordination with families that provide rooms as opposed to staying in refugee centres

– actual on-site updated news

-identifying lost children, saving pets

Funding is urgently needed as the refugee crisis worsens.
